In the past there have been times when the idea of a 1970 class gift to the high school has come up. Perhaps some of you might think it is a good idea, and some maybe not. I’m personally on the fence about it because I don’t feel the school did all that much for me. But other classes, not nearly as great and as strong as our class have left gifts for the school. I think one class gave a sign for the corner of Toppans lane and High Street. Another gave a clock for the auditorium, another a PA system for the same.
Perhaps you might have an opinion one way or another, and maybe even some ideas on what, if we choose to, gift the school from our class.
Currently the class doesn’t have any surplus funds, but if we did, would you want to gift NHS something on behalf of our class? Would you donate to a special fund?
This might be an interesting conversation during our reunion, an attempt to build a consensus. I suppose if there was strong enough support for this idea, perhaps we could repurpose this web site as a fund-raising center. I could re-build the eCommerce section to include a donation vehicle specifically for a gift fund. I’d also add a poll or form to solicit ideas as to what the gift might be.
Anyway, this was simply my thought for the day: I’m neither pro nor con on the gift idea, but because it has been brought up in the past, I figured that maybe I’d put it out there and let you at least think about it.
