When you saw the cost of attending this next reunion I hope you understand that $37.50 is our “break even” price point. Try as we did, we simply couldn’t hold the event for less. There are costs to pay the venue, costs to purchase and mail postcards, and costs for food. And we shop for bargains. Still, the cost for everything keeps rising…
Some previous reunions were more per person than this one, and we have had pretty solid turnouts for those. So, if $37.50 is too rich for you to attend we want to know about it. And we will do what we can to help you attend.
In the past we have always tried to be understanding and assistive for classmates with problematic circumstances. We have dipped into our own pockets and subsidized a few class members with financial deficiencies. In several cases a classmate has purchased extra tickets for another in order to make sure they could attend. Sometimes classmates have stepped up to offer rides to housebound others. As a group, it seems we have always watched out for others and lent a hand or kindness to each other. Makes me proud to be a part of our class. We have class.
And a special thanks to the many classmates who donated over $3000 for Gail Emerson’s funeral expenses a few years ago.
In the past I have provided a reminder that reunion donations are accepted, to be applied to benefit everyone and anyone from our great 1970 class. This time is no different. But now that many of us are retirees on fixed incomes, perhaps it may now be more important to offer a little extra for those who don’t have as much.
I have included a special form on this web site to let me know they could use a little help. This information will be secure and discreet. I promise that no one will need to know who receives any assistance.
To donate by check simply send it in your reservation payment and earmark that is a donation. Or send a specific second donation check. When I finish the online payment system I’ll included a donation option.

I forgot to give an additional donation when I sent in my $75.00 for my wife and myself. I will be sending an addition gift to the class this week and I will mail it to Mary Alice tomorrow.
